Corvus and Draco - Reflect and Review

Dear Parents,

It has been a busy term and we hope you all have a lovely half-term break! Thank you all for your kind words of support during our OFSTED inspection early this week. We’re afraid we are in for a long wait for the report. We will update you as soon as we can.

This week it’s been RE week. We have been learning to describe a setting of one of Jesus’ miracles using a range of descriptive language. We’ve explored what we believe miracles are and whether we believe that miracles exist or if there are other explanations.

Following the break, our termly topic will be ‘Rivers’. We will begin to study our new book - The Rhythm of the Rain by Grahame Baker Smith. We will continue our study of length and perimeter and will learn about rivers as geographers.

World Book Day Performance
As shared last week, Corvus and Draco will be performing the entirety of the Royal Opera and Ballet’s version of Hansel and Gretel on World Book Day, please see the post for further details. The children were given their lines for the performance for them to learn over half term. All children were given at least one line and chose what kind of part they wanted. We will send the full script via MCAS app with children’s names attached if your child’s script did not make it home. For costumes, simple is our intention. We would ask that children have their costume in school no later than the Friday of the first week back. Children in Corvus should have clothes that are darker earthy colours (orange, brown, cream etc) whilst children in Draco should come with brighter, though-not-fluorescent, colours (red, yellow, green). Please can the witch be dressed all in black, but not with a witches costume or hat. For each of these, a t-shirt with school trousers/tracksuit bottoms is more than enough. If you click here you will find a link to the songs for our performance, should you/your child wish to practise at home.
