Delphinus - Reflect and Review
Dear Delightful Delphinus!
What a wonderful and memorable final week we have had together! Although it has been another very warm week in school, the children have continued to show such enthusiasm, creativity, and resilience.
In Maths, we finished off our topic of time and looked at telling the time to the half hour ande then focused on consolidating our learning from throughout the year.
In Curious Quest, we have been exploring the book Princess Smarty Pants.
We enjoyed reading the story together and watching an animated version of it at home if you would like to watch it again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7lEHIcDtko
This week, we have focused on developing our vocabulary by learning the words:
- RELAXED
- DESIRABLE
- INDEPENDENT
- DISPLEASED
- GINORMOUS
- SHIMMERING
- DAREDEVILISH
- PURSUIT
We added actions to each of our new vocabulary words to help us remember their meanings, and our class favourites this week have definitely been Shimmering and Daredevilish.
In our wider curriculum learning, we participated in DT - portable snacks! The children began by planning what they would need, thinking carefully about ingredients, equipment, and the tools required. We also discussed the importance of following safety rules when preparing food, including safe use of equipment and good hygiene practices.
The children then put their plans into action by making their own wraps. They showed great independence, creativity, and teamwork as they prepared their snacks before enjoying the best part — tasting and eating them! It was wonderful to see the children take pride in what they had created and develop valuable practical skills along the way.
We had a brilliant time at Sports Day this week! Despite the heat, the children had lots of fun taking part in the races and activities, showing great teamwork and enthusiasm. A big well done to everyone, especially the Blue Turtles who were our winning team!
It has truly been a dream to teach this year's group. They have brought so much character, curiosity, and joy into the classroom every single day. This has been a year filled with amazing ideas, thoughtful questions, creative thinking, and countless special moments that we will remember fondly.
We are incredibly proud of how much the children have grown, not only in their learning but also in their confidence, independence, and kindness towards one another. Thank you for your continued support throughout the year and for allowing me the privilege of being part of their journey!
