Delphinus - Reflect and Review
Dear Parents and Carers,
Children have done really well in PE this week, with their football and netball skills, gaining more control of their passing and becoming more accurate getting the ball in the hoop in netball. Those who are sometimes reluctant have given it their all and surprised themselves, especially when we practised sprinting. Children are also starting to use their new Oracy skills using hand gestures for instigating ideas and for building on what others are saying. As mathematicians, we were learning how to use the symbols for less than, greater than and equal to, and through Drawing Club we explored autumn using our Percy the Parkkeeper, After the Storm book.
Next week:
As Mathematicians, children will be learning about part-part-whole models. Children will be continuing their exploration of Everyday Materials and how to make joins in Design and Technology. (More junk modelling needed please!). In RE children will be asking What do Christian’s believe about God? We will be practising our Harvest songs and voting for our two Delphinus school council representatives. On Friday we will have our Didgeridoo workshop and Year 2’s will be sharing their knowledge of Australia in preparation for that.
Home-learning
Please could children continue practising these two songs at home, but particularly the second one:
The Farmer comes to scatter the seed
On Thursday 16th and Friday 17th October we will be voting for our school councillors for Delphinus class. If your child would like to be on the school council, please could they think of the reasons why. With your help they could write it down or they could drawer a picture to help them remember or you could send in a video (use KS1 email address) of them talking about it.
(Here are links to the Pirate Song and the Little Red Riding Hood songs that the children have learnt earlier this term.)
