Pegasus - Reflect and Review

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had a great week of learning in Pegasus class. In Maths, we have been learning how to create our own data using tables, tally charts and pictograms. We have challenged ourselves to create our own pictogram keys counting in 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s. In English, we have been exploring our new whole class text ‘The Snail & The Whale’ and creating our own artistic drawings to explore the thoughts and feelings of the different characters and how they change during the book. 

In Geography, we have been exploring the seven continents and five oceans, creating and labelling maps of the world. In PSHE, we have been recognising the qualities of different animals relating to our Big 5 values: peace, truth, responsibility, love and community. We applied this to recognise and celebrate differences between ourselves and others in our class, writing down our own examples.

In English, we will be writing our own descriptive poems about the sea based on our text ‘The Snail & The Whale’. In Maths, we will learn how to use mathematical language to describe position and movement. 

In Geography, we will be focusing on how waves affect coastlines, using both practical and creative activities to express our learning for this topic. For example, creating our own miniature shorelines to investigate the effect that water, or waves, have on the land.
