Pegasus - Reflect and Review
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had a great week of learning in Pegasus class. In Maths, we have been using language to describe position, movement and turns. We have applied our understanding of time to describe different turns such as quarter, half and three quarter turns. In English, we have been using the 5 senses to create a setting description about the sea based on the text The Snail & The Whale. We used our setting description to create our own descriptive poems in pairs.
In Geography, we have been focusing on how waves affect coastlines, creating our own sea artwork using paints. In Science, we explored how a range of seed are dispersed and discussed whether they would explode out of a plant or float off in the wind. We used pieces of paper to create our own helicopter (sycamore) seeds.
Next week:
Please remember to do the Maths homework ready to hand in on Monday.
In English, we will be finishing reading our The Snail & The Whale text focusing on the skills of retrieval, inference and prediction. In maths, we will be consolidating our understanding of movement and turns to create our own shape patterns.
In Science, we will be exploring hydroponics to consider some of the ways that seeds spread before growing our own cress head!
