Parental Involvement
How parents take part in the Nursery
Our most recent Ofsted report as North Hinksey Preschool and Childcare Clubs, prior to our merrger with North Hinksey Primary (June 2025) highlighted our parent involvement with our pre-school, saying:
" Partnerships with parents are exemplary. Parents completely value satff's support and guidance about child development and feel completely involved in their children's time at the setting".
"parents in their testimonials consistently use the the word 'thrive' to describe their children's time at preschool, attributing this to the staff team and leadership of preschool. Staff continually share children's learning so that parents can seamlessly continue this at home".

As a member of the Early Years Alliance, North Hinksey Nursery recognises parents as the first and foremost educators of their children. All of the staff see themselves as co-workers with you in providing care and education for your child. There are many ways in which parents take part in making the preschool a welcoming and stimulating place for children and parents, such as:
• exchanging knowledge about their children's needs, activities, interests and progress with the staff
• helping at sessions of the Nursery
• sharing their own special interests with the children
• helping to provide, make and look after the equipment and materials used in the children's play activities
• taking part in events and informal discussions about the activities and curriculum provided by the Nursery
• joining in community activities in which the preschool takes part
• building friendships with other parents in the Nursery
